THE COMPANY
The company was formed in 1991 and since then has grown into a well respected company now employing over 60 people and expanding. They are a Systems Integrator with most of their business being in the pharmaceutical / food / nuclear industries i.e. regulated industries.
THE ROLE
OFFICIAL JOB TITLE: - SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
Design, development and implementation of projects using a variety of manufacturers PLC / SCADA solutions on a variety of projects.
The successful candidate will be required to mentor junior members of staff and be actively involved in their development. The candidate will be expected to produce project documentation suite such as design documentation and test specifications and expected to review documents produced by junior engineers.
THE CANDIDATE – Essential Skills
Mainstream PLC / SCADA, e.g.
• Siemens S7/300, S7/400, S5, Allen Bradley SLC500, PLC5, ControlLogix, CompactLogix
• SCADA systems such as WinCC, InTouch, iFIX
Applicants may not have knowledge of all these systems but should have detailed knowledge of at least one with sufficient practical experience to be able to work with other types of systems as dictated by project requirements.
Desirable skills
Skills in DCS systems such as Emerson DeltaV, Siemens PCS7, ABB System 800xa, Allen Bradley ProcessLogix, Honeywell Plantscape / Experion.
Understanding of instrumentation signals and the ability to fault find on I/O subsystems and I/O subsystems that use buses such as Profibus, ProfiNet, DeviceNet / ControlNet and EtherNet.
Confidence in the use of PC based office systems preferably Microsoft Office suite and MS Project.
The ideal candidate would have knowledge and experience of implementation of projects using the following standards, IEC61508, 21CFR11, IEC61131, EN54, and S88.
