Maths teacher required to teach in an Internet-based classroom. No crowd control.

Our client is an online learning academy providing interactive learning programmes to students in the UK, who are unable to access mainstream education. The role is to teach Maths in KS3 and KS4 and possibly A Level on a full-time basis.

Typical students have disabilities, medical conditions, and behavioural issues. The Academy has proved very popular with young people out of school and has shown amazing results for pupils with low academic expectations. The types of pupils taught online are medically ill, disabled, disaffected, excluded, gifted and talented.

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher able to lead teaching across a full range of age and abilities and assist in securing high standards and improving academic attainment.

We require teachers with the ability to deliver engaging lessons, over the internet, to students of various ages and backgrounds.

The successful candidate must be empathetic towards the wide range of pupils on roll, many whom are unfortunately unable to attend school. The students on roll are those who are unable to access mainstream education so an understanding of young people with special needs is useful.

The academy can offer outstanding professional development and career progression. Teaching online in the virtual classroom requires confidence in IT (however, full training will be given).

Candidates should:

Have the ability to plan engaging lessons electronically, which are appropriate for all of the ability levels taught.

Have a strong background in teaching core skills

Be a qualified or experienced teacher and be available to start immediately.

Be clearly spoken.

Hold a valid teaching qualification.

Be committed to high academic standards

Have the ability to work in the UK without a school specific work permit.

Be a team player but also capable of working alone.

Be energetic and enthusiastic, with a good sense of humour;

As the academy are seeking to appoint someone on contract, you must have a valid visa for working in the UK.
